I just finished reading the seventh book in James Patterson's famous Alex Cross series, and I have to say it was a little more morbid then how he usually writes, but at the same time a typical Alex Cross book.
I love James Patterson, he is by far my favorite author. I have read all of the Women's Murder Club books, and numerous of his single books, but for some reason I just can't get into his Alex Cross series. When I first starting reading The Women's Murder Club books, I fell in love and read every book that was out, right in a row. But I just can't do it with the Alex Cross series.
I started reading Alex about a year ago, and even with the very shocking ending to Roses are Red, it still took me a year to get the next book in the series. I think I just don't like Alex Cross. I can't even put my finger on it, I just don't like him. The books are always great, the story line is always great, James Patterson is always keeping his readers guessing until the very end of the book. EVERY James Patterson book has kept me reading late into the night, even when I knew I was waking up early the next morning, I just always had to read one more chapter.
In Violets are Blue, Alex Cross encounters vampires. Not sparkling vampires, not even your typical vampires who turn into bats, but real people who practice the lifestyle of vampires. The case turns ugly real fast, and all the while the infamous Mastermind continues to harass Alex, as he has been for the past few books.
The book is an easy read and you are quickly sucked into the vampire world that Alex is investiagating. Just when you think you have the book figured out, Patterson throws in a twist and has you guessing all over again.
Although I don't like Alex, I do love James Patterson and would recommond these books.
